Ephesians 6

Family Relationships

1 aChildren, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 b Honor your father and mother (which is the first commandment with a promise), 3so that it may be well with you, and that you may live long on the earth.

4 cFathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but dbring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

5 eSlaves, be obedient to those who are your

masters according to the flesh, with gfear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, has to Christ;

render service, pas to the Lord, and not to men,
8 qknowing that rwhatever good thing each one does, this he will receive back from the Lord, swhether slave or free.

9And masters, do the same things to them, and tgive up threatening, knowing that uboth their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is vno partiality with Him.

The Armor of God

10Finally, wbe strong in the Lord and in xthe strength of His might. 11 yPut on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the zschemes of the devil. 12For our aastruggle is not against

acflesh and blood, but adagainst the rulers, against the powers, against the aeworld forces of this afdarkness, against the agspiritual forces of wickedness in ahthe heavenly places.
13Therefore, take up aithe full armor of God, so that you will be able to ajresist in akthe evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. 14Stand firm therefore, al having girded your loins with truth, and having am put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15and having anshod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16
